HOW IT WORKS
1. Bring in required identification.
Applicants must have two of the following forms of identification, one with your current mailing address. If you do not have a valid photo ID, then both forms must have a current mailing address.
- Driver’s license or state ID card
- Bank statement
- Utility bill
- Property tax receipt
- Voter registration card
- Lease/Rental agreement
2. Visit your Library.
Library cards are free to residents of Weber and Davis counties, Morgan County, Summit County (with the exception of Park City), Brigham City, and Logan City. A signature of a parent or legal guardian is required for persons under 18.
3. Complete your application.
There is a $1 replacement fee for lost cards. Cards are valid for two years from the date of issue. You may renew your card by visiting any library location. Please bring your picture ID and proof of address if your address has changed.
Library cards may be purchased for an annual fee of $30.
Because public libraries are locally funded, those living outside a particular political subdivision have typically had to purchase cards to gain borrowing privileges from neighboring libraries. Recently signed interlocal service agreements among six Northern Utah cities and counties have changed all that and opened the doors to better service.
CARD HOLDER BENEFITS
You must have a library card to check out materials. For more information, review our Circulation Policy or call 801-337-2636.
Residents of Weber, Davis, Morgan, and Summit counties (with the exception of Park City), and residents of Brigham City and Logan City can apply for an e-Library card by calling 801-337-2660 or 801-337-2673 if they are 18 years or older. Minors will be able to receive e-Library cards if their parent or legal guardian applies for an e-Library card for them. At this time, we cannot process e-Library cards for other residents besides those listed. E-Library cards are valid for one year from the date of issue and may be renewed by calling 801-337-2660 or 801-337-2673.
The purpose of the e-Library card is to provide residents with free access to digital content for all ages (movies, music, eBooks, eAudiobooks, and eMagazines) available through the Weber County Library and easily downloaded to any device.
Prior to checking out physical materials, patrons must come into one of the five Weber County Library buildings to apply for a regular library card.
