Summer Reading Children

Adventure begins at your library, children's summer reading program 2024

Set off on all sorts of adventures at the Weber County Library!

Explore books and activities and earn prizes for reading throughout the summer. All events are FREE. Children's Summer Reading registration for ages 0-12 starts May 28 at all locations and online.

Children Summer Reading Benefits

Eight out of ten studies indicate students who read recreationally out-perform those who don’t, and by the end of 6th grade, children who lose reading skills over the summer are two years behind their classmates. To promote continued reading, children ages 0-12 can participate in this free program.

For more information, call 801-337-2639.

Here's how the summer reading program works:

  1. Win prizes for every 14 days you read or are read to at home. Track reading time on your log beginning May 28 and ending August 12. Final prizes will be given out beginning July 22. Collect all prizes by August 16. Remember, you must present your log with adult initials to receive your prize!
  2. Beginning the week of June 3, join us for summer reading activities.
  3. Check out the event calendar for more summer fun!
