Used Book & Surplus Property Sale

Please note:

  • CASH OR CHECK ONLY. An America First Credit Union ATM is located across the street from the library. Checks should be made payable to Friends of WCL.

  • Use east side parking for easy access.

  • The sale is conducted outside on the plaza and lawn. Please be prepared for hot weather and dress appropriately. Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat for shade are strongly encouraged. 

  • We do not allow strollers, wagons, or large bins in the sale area. There is ample space on the lawn outside of the sale area for sorting. Please be mindful of the landscaping.

  • We do not pre-sell.

  • No electronic devices/phones for scanning purposes are allowed at the tables.


Proceeds from the sale go to support a variety of programs throughout the Weber County Library system such as Reading is FUNdamental, America Reads Challenge, and the Adult Proliteracy Literacy Tutoring Program.

Join us anytime from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Saturday, August 29 for our annual Used Book & Surplus Property Sale! This year's sale features thousands of great finds, including a special collection of donated vintage comic books still in their sleeves that collectors and readers won't want to miss.
 

  • The excitement of the event brings out a large crowd in the morning. We highly recommend that parents with small children, the elderly, and anyone wanting a more relaxed browsing experience arrive after 1:00 p.m. 

  • During our busiest times, there may be a wait in line to purchase items.

  • The sale will feature thousands of hardbound and paperback books for all ages as well as music CDs, recorded books on CD, and movie DVDs.

  • Most items are priced between 25 cents and $1.00, cash and checks only.

  • For those who enjoy a good bargain, a special “Bring Your Own Bag” sale begins at 4:00 p.m. Fill a bag with eligible sale items for the rock-bottom price of $1 a bag.

  • The sale will include surplus property no longer needed for library operations. Items will be priced as marked and offered for sale, providing an opportunity to give useful equipment and furnishings a second life while helping the library responsibly recycle property it no longer needs.

  • Proceeds from the sale support the Weber County Library System and its services to the community.
