In the center sits a large cylindrical tank containing a frog-shaped plant, sculpted entirely from intertwining vines, moss, petals, and leaves. The plant-frog uses every color of the rainbow, but all in dull, muted tones — olive greens, dusty reds, faded blues, soft purples, etc. The frog is in a calm, seated position, holding a small, bark-and-petal-bound book titled “AI”. The book glows faintly with bioluminescent light, casting a soft shimmer onto the frog’s leafy face. Around the tank, shelves hold hybrid plant specimens in glass jars — some with roots writhing gently, others in stasis. The lab is dimly lit with glowing control panels and subtle signs of nature creeping into the tech — moss edging the machines and vines snaking near outlets. The whole scene feels like a quiet, mysterious intersection of botany, biology, and futuristic intellect. Can we have the glow of the book shine from the inside so it lights up his face? We make a different name to the book he’s reading, I want him to be reading an autobiography but make it AI themed since that’s where he’s came from Tool: ChatGPT Winner: Uriah Flores Week 8 Theme: Aliens Among Us Prompt: : Create an image in an Art Nouveau style: flowing lines, organic shapes, floral motifs, and soft, decorative elegance. A one-time training is required for all tutors to attend prior to participating (see “Volunteer Now” page). Registration deadline: April 30, 2025. More information about volunteering. Why was America Reads founded? In 1996, President Clinton launched the nationwide program America Reads with the goal of ensuring that every kid could read proficiently by the end of the third grade after research had shown that 40% of children were not reading at a basic level. Since that announcement, each summer, the Weber County Library offers the one-on-one tutoring program. The America Reads program is open to all elementary school children in the Weber County area, and is specially designed for children who may need additional help with reading. Research has shown that children who cannot read at grade level by the third grade are unlikely to ever overcome this disadvantage. However, research has also shown that intervention during the first eight years of a child’s life can have a significant positive effect on reading skills. With now over 1,000 students participating each year, the Weber County Library America Reads program provides children with weekly 30 minutes reading sessions with trained volunteers for 8 weeks, during the months of June and July. Children are encouraged to add new words to their vocabulary, read for comprehension, and make use of the library’s many resources at every session. At the end of the tutoring program, students, families and volunteers enjoy a literacy celebration.
