Adult Summer Reading Activities

Enhance your Adult Summer Reading experience with our "Side Quest challenge! Pick up or download a Quest List and embark on exciting challenges inside the library. For every three quests you complete, you will earn a prize and a raffle ticket for The Adult Summer Reading Grand Prize! Each quest can be completed once.

Online Quests

Access the Chronicling America database through the library website and browse for newspaper articles from the American Revolution.

Check out an eBook or stream from Libby or Hoopla

Access Ancestry.com through the library website and find one interesting fact about one of your ancestors.

In each library location, a hidden item awaits you. Ask the library staff for your clue and find this item to earn a specially designed button. Collect a button from each location to earn an extra raffle ticket!

Quests

  • Sign up for the adult summer reading program.

  • Visit a local museum or historic site in Weber County such as the Ogden Union Station or Fort Buenaventura.

  • Go on a hike or walk with friends or family.

  • Tag the library in a social media post during a library visit. (Use the social media handle @webercountylibrary on Instagram and Weber County Library for Facebook.)

  • Attend a library program.

  • Find the Dewey Decimal number for Utah history.

  • Write a journal entry about one of your most memorable experiences.

  • Find and check out a book on fossils or dinosaurs.

  • Make a librarian laugh with a dinosaur- or archaeology-related joke or pun.

  • Participate in a community activity such as the Ogden Farmers Market or a parade.

  • Write a letter to your future self.

  • Check out a book from one of the library’s displays.

  • Check out a movie that you’ve never seen before and have a movie night with friends or family.

  • Visit a library gallery or display case.

  • Ask a staff member about the Mind Benders collection.

  • Go to the cookbook area and find a recipe you’d like to try. Make a copy of the recipe or check out the book.

  • Either online or on microfilm, look at newspaper headlines from the day you were born.
