Annualcreditreport.com is the official government site of the Federal Trade Commission that allows consumers to request a free credit report once every 12 months from each of the nationwide consumer credit reporting companies: Equifax, Experian and TransUnion.
This product research site collects reviews, analyzes them and gives recommendations on what to buy. It includes many categoriesm including automotive, family and pets, and home and garden. This site also reviews infomercial gadgets and gizmos, determining which products live up to the hype.
Consumer.gov is a resource provided by the Federal Trade Commission to educate consumers on money management and scams such as identity theft. Topics covered include credit, loans and debt. Each section has an audio option and many topics are covered by videos. This website is also available in Spanish.
This state agency is responsible for enforcing Utah’s consumer protection statues. The division works to protect consumers from unfair and deceptive business practices and to encourage the development of fair business practices. It is a great resource for finding information on local scams.
