The Weber County Library System is now accepting submissions for those interested in exhibiting in either of two state-of-the-art galleries.
ELAINE R. STEPHENS GALLERY
The Elaine R. Stephens Gallery is the Library´s newest initiative to promote artists as they engage the community. Positioned at the entrance to the Pleasant Valley Branch, the Gallery greets approximately 1,000 visitors who enter the building each day. Our expansive exhibit space, 77.5 linear feet long x 12 feet 11 inches high, will accommodate large pieces with white walls and abundant natural and gallery lighting. The gallery also features a spectacular exhibit case, equipped with 15 large display shelves.
LORNA WATTIS SWANSON GALLERY
Located in the beautiful Ogden Valley, the Lorna Wattis Swanson Gallery is close to 2002 Olympic venues, golf courses, and world class hiking, biking and other outdoor recreation areas. This gallery boasts the best exhibit space in the Valley, with exposure to corporate retreat participants, outdoor enthusiasts, and international visitors. Hanging exhibit space, 64.5 linear feet long x 11 feet 4 inches high, features white background and gallery lighting. The lighted exhibit case offers 5-6 adjustable shelves.
HOW TO APPLY
Applicants for the Lorna Wattis Swanson and Elaine Stephens Galleries should have a clear proposal for a compelling and feasible project that will fit appropriately in a specific gallery. The galleries seek work that is contemporary, professionally-produced, and responds to the diverse demographic of visitors that the Weber County Library System enjoys. Proposals for work in all formats—photography, painting, drawing, folk art, and sculpture—are welcome.
